Quiz Time: Time Travel is Possible!! Avoiding Jet Lag to Japan

Time Travel IS Possible

We just crossed the International Date Line. We've flew from Monday 8:00 pm, and entered Tuesday, approximately 10:00 am. Now that's cool.

Okay family, help me avoid jet lag.

How long and what time should Wife and Husband sleep until to wake up at 7:00 am Tokyo Japan time?

Family readership... Can you figure it out??

Our flight leaves at 11:45 am CST (call it noon). We arrive after 12 hours flight at approximately 12 midnight CST.

Add 14 hours Forward time difference and as the itinerary indicates we arrive in Tokyo at 2:00 pm (plus adjust for air patterns that's actually 2:35 pm).

Then I subtract backwards how many hours from 2:00 pm in Tokyo to get 7:00 am morning time. That's 7 hours.

Subtract 7 hours from my arrival time of 12 midnight, that means I need to wake up at 5:00 pm CST (that's 7:00 am Japan time).

Yes there are shorter ways of doing this but my brain works at both sides of the equal sign algebra:

12:00CST departure+12H=2:00arrival-14H
1200CST midnight=1200 midnight
1200CST midnight-7H=2:00pm-7H
5:00 pm CST=7:00 am Japan
