Day 2: "Shinkansen" Bullet Train Photos: Narita Airport to Shin-Yokohama Station

We are ON the Bullet Train right now!! Yes, the actual one of a kind speed train!! Thrilled. Our guide has a wireless router on her during the entire trip so we can text, call and blog.

The train feels as you'd expect it too: a smooth ride. With a roller coaster feeling in your stomach.

Entering the Railways from Narita Airport.

That's husband and his carry one (we will be living out of this for nearly 15 days, packing and unpacking every 3-4 days when our large luggage meets us at the next cities).

First stop is the Shinagawa Rail Station approx. 1 hour away, transfer to the black train for the Shin-Yokohama station train (our First Destination). We will be on that train for about 10 minutes with a walk to our hotel.

Buying our Junior Railpass. All the paperwork here says please print, use all capital letters. Maybe I add some Polish script? Cźesć, jak sie maś?

The guard is saluting the Bullet Train as it enters the station. The opposite track a train is exiting. The trains are so quiet, you feel them and don't hear them like the CTA.

Our Rail pass we will need for every ride during the trip (The JR Railpass is $200+ dollars and valid for a month. It also gets us discounted Shingansen Bullet Train tickets which range $90-$300). The lower ticket was our Bullet Train ticket. Car 4: Seats: 10A&B

Poor Husbands exhausted!!

Vending machine and riders waiting at a stop
Apparently there's a High Alert Security notice for all riders. There was a police officer walking thru the train also.
We "rushed to get to our next train just to wait in line" - Katy
As we went down the escalator, I was standing on the right side, and the guy in front of our guide tapped my shoulder and made me move to the left. He rushed to wait in front of us.

This is the local train system
The guy who tapped my Shoulder is in front of our JEEP guide.

View of the interior workers heading home on the Shin-Yokohama line.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. I feel it captures something essential about Japan.

Happy Travel
